Baseball bat, golf club attack leads to arrest of three New London men

From left, Jacky Dely, 26, Billy Michel, 21, and Alexis Yougans, 21, were each charged with second-degree assault and home invasion.

New London — Police arrested three city men Tuesday in connection with an attack of a victim who said he was beaten about the head and body with baseball bats and a golf club.

Police responded at 7:06 a.m. to an area near the 163 Huntington St. apartment complex where police said they found the unidentified victim suffering from non-life threatening injuries to his face and body. The victim declined medical treatment but told police he knew his attackers, according to a statement from Acting Police Chief Peter Reichard.

An investigation revealed the home invasion and attack was retaliation for a domestic-related incident that took place on Monday. Police did not elaborate on Monday’s domestic incident but said information from that event led to the arrest of the three men.

Jacky Dely, 26, and Alexis Yougans, 21, both of 195 Shaw St., Unit 2, and Billy Michel, 21, of 22 Center St. were each charged with second-degree assault and home invasion. All three men were scheduled for arraignment in New London Superior Court on Tuesday.

No further information was immediately available.
