    H.S. volleyball: Montville, East Lyme pull out key victories

    Griswold — Abby Diamantini had 32 digs as Montville outlasted Griswold 3-2 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III volleyball match on Friday night.

    Game scores were 25-20, 25-23, 14-25, 16-25 and 15-10.

    Gabby Beal added 16 digs and three aces for the Indians (6-1, 2-0) while Mackenzie Ullrich finished with 14 assists, seven digs, three aces and three kills, and Haley Kerwin added six kills and 19 digs.

    In other matches:

    • East Lyme won the final two games to pull out a 3-2 victory over Norwich Free Academy in an ECC Division I match. Game scores were 25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 25-22 and 17-15. Sophie Dubreuil had 16 digs for the Vikings (6-1, 2-1) while Mya Delesdernier had 18 kills and 11 digs and Sydney Iannantuono added 34 kills and 10 digs. Eliana Jewell had 17 kills, four aces and 23 digs for NFA (3-2, 0-2) while Sarah Ericson added 23 assists and 15 digs and Maya Conley had 12 kills and 18 digs.

    • Olivia Pacheco (nine aces, seven kills) and Olivia Gianakos (seven kills, three blocks) helped Waterford sweep Killingly 3-0 in an ECC Division II match. Game scores were 25-21, 25-8 and 25-23. Gretchen Dusza added 18 assists for the Lancers (4-2, 2-0).

    • Unbeaten Woodstock Academy outlasted Fitch 3-1 in an ECC Division I match. Game scores were 25-13, 18-25, 25-20 and 25-14. Nora Ryan had 12 kills for the Falcons (4-2, 0-2) while Aby Hagley had 11 digs and Ny Ishmael added nine digs.

    • Ellis Tech defeated Grasso Tech 25-20, 25-21, 18-25 and 25-16 in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Michelle Warren had three aces, two assists, seven kills and 22 digs for the Eagles while Erin Blake added four blocks and 10 digs, Samaire Delgado had two assists, eight kills, 17 digs and seven blocks, and Heather Carlin had two aces, five assists, three kills, 13 digs and four blocks.

    • Ledyard defeated Bacon Academy 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 and 26-24 in an ECC Division II match. Miranda Chesnut had 16 kills for the Colonels (2-4, 1-1) while Maylyn Maydash had 19 assists and Mo Riewerts had 15 service points, six aces and 15 assists.

    • Wheeler defeated New London 25-15, 25-19, 17-25 and 25-10 in an ECC Division IV match. The Whalers (0-5, 0-2) were led by freshman Wennonah Amar with eight service points, six digs and seven assists while sophomore Caylee Parker had 13 service points, five kills and three blocks.
