Millenials learned hard lessons about capitalism

We Millennials are accustomed to the impressive degree of dripping condescension expressed in Cal Thomas's column, “The ‘spoiled rotten’ generation is foolish in welcoming socialism” (July 28). Nevertheless, his tedious, haughty scold leaves one questioning his strategy to reverse the increasingly anti-capitalist sentiments of young Americans. What older market-worshippers should remember before burdening us with their unsolicited admonitions is that we Millennials witnessed firsthand the implosion of the American economy in 2007. Since then, in the private business sector and in our government, we've observed a relatively small coalition of upper-level managers and 21st Century robber-barons hoarding wealth and destroying the planet, while belittling anyone who dares question the justice of this state of affairs.

One would think if they were so distraught at our lack of free-market faith, older capitalist apologists could direct some of their apparently abundant indignation at any of those transparently greediest members of the bourgeoisie. Instead, it's we who just get the endless finger-wagging, scolding and blame like in Thomas's most recent garbage. Hey Cal, here's the thing: we Millennials grew up with the internet, and thanks to our early experiences with desperate Nigerian princes, we know a fraud when we see one.
