    Police chase armed robbery suspect from East Haven to East Lyme

    State police said they chased an armed robbery suspect from the East Haven area to East Lyme, where he was apprehended Monday night.

    State police said the suspect, who allegedly stole a car and had several warrants for his arrest, is currently in custody. The pursuit began around 5:43 p.m. and ended about 45 minutes later.

    East Lyme police wrote on their Facebook page that the chase ended after the vehicle's tires were deflated with stop sticks. West Main Street was briefly shut down during the incident.

    East Lyme police said the vehicle had been reported stolen from New Haven, and the suspect was wanted by East Haven Police and Branford Police on robbery charges.

    State police from the Troop F Westbrook barracks, along with state police from Troop E Montville barracks, Old Saybrook Police, and East Lyme Police were all involved with the pursuit.

    State police said they will be releasing more information on the incident.
