Water restored to Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School; other buildings still without water

Old Lyme — The Lyme-Old Lyme school district issued a notice that the water connection to the middle school was restored at 2:20 p.m. Thursday. But Center School, the Lymes' Youth Service Bureau, Town Hall, the firehouse and the Old Lyme Historical Society still are without water, since the exact location of the broken pipe has not been determined.

The district said all schools will have a regular school day on Friday, except pre-kindergarten classes and LEARN will not be in session.

Town Hall will be closed Friday due to the broken pipe and will be closed on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Town officials expect to reopen Town Hall for regular hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

School officials hope to have water restored to all buildings before Tuesday.
