Fort Griswold archaeological findings to be discussed at meeting
Groton — The annual meeting of the Friends of Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park will include discussion of recent archaeological findings as part of the excavation of the platform at the fort.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the Monument House Museum on Park Avenue. The event is free and open to the public but seating is limited, so the Friends of Fort Griswold ask that those interested in attending register by emailing their names and contact information to info@fortgriswold.org.
At the meeting, Connecticut State Archaeologist Brian Jones and David George of Heritage Consultants will speak about their findings and artifacts that were found.
