HER SITUATION: Betty Sue has had to take two leaves of absence for health reasons during the past year. During that time, she has remained resilient and independent and has only survived on her savings and retirement, which have both been depleted. Her daughter was recently in a car accident and suffered permanent brain trauma. Through it all, Betty Sue continues to encourage herself. After her second medical leave, she was unable to return to her former employment. However, during that leave she acquired accreditation in a different field.

WHAT TO GIVE: Assistance paying rent (monetary), gas cards, grocery cards and pharmacy cards.
