Tonight's 39th House District debate and livestream still on

New London — Tonight's debate among candidates seeking the vacant 39th House District seat will proceed as scheduled in the auditorium of the New London Science & Technical High School.

The Day is hosting the debate with the League of Women Voters of Southeastern Connecticut. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The debate is scheduled to conclude about 7:30 p.m. The debate will be livestreamed at www.theday.com.

The participating candidates are petitioning candidate Jason Catala, Green Party member Mirna Martinez, Republican Kat Goulart and Democrat Anthony Nolan. They hope to fill the seat vacated by Chris Soto, who stepped down to join Gov. Ned Lamont's administration.
