    Local roundup: Healy helps lift Vikings past Woodstock in field hockey

    East Lyme — Caroline Healy scored twice as the East Lyme High School field hockey team defeated Woodstock Academy 4-2 Thursday in an Eastern Connecticut Conference game.

    Kristen Healy and Katie Durkee had a goal and an assist each and Daven Roberts had an assist for East Lyme (1-2, 1-1).

    In other games:

    • Zoe Pearse scored twice and Molly Dunn had a goal and an assist as Fitch/Ledyard beat NFA 4-1 in an ECC game. Maci Silvia had a goal and Erin Ritter made three saves for Fitch/Ledyard (1-2, 1-2). Sydney Brewer scored and Emily Claspell made eight saves for NFA (0-3, 0-3). 

    • Miranda Arruda had two goals and an assist as Stonington topped Killingly 8-0 in an ECC matchup. Stonington led just 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Trinity Lennon, but scored just 21 seconds into the second half on a goal by Hannah Pratt and took off from there. Pratt and Keegan Donohue also had two goals each for the Bears (3-0, 3-0) and Casey Beaumont also scored.

    H.S. girls' soccer

    • Mia Londregan scored three goals and Caroline Codner had a goal and three assists as St. Bernard beat Windham in its opener and an ECC Division III game. Lindsay Clement had a goal and Sarah Forrester and Victoria Hannaford had assists for the Saints, who outshot Windham 18-1.

    • Shannon Hickey scored in overtime to give Bacon Academy a 2-1 victory over Stonington in an ECC Division III game. Stonington led 1-0 on a second-half penalty kick by Jessica Detwiler, but Bacon forced the overtime session with a goal in the final five minutes of regulation. Stonington is 1-3, 1-1.

    H.S. boys' soccer

    • Keshav Garcia-Patel scored midway through the second overtime period as Fitch ralled to beat NFA 3-2 in an ECC Division I game. Eric Leuchner had a goal and an assist, Giovanni Valentine scored and Wes Jacey made five saves for Fitch (2-0-1, 1-0), which trailed 2-0 at halftime. Maxwell Knowlton and Whenderson Delphin had goals, Nathan Cherenzia and Isaac Wheeler had assists and Ryan Godino made three saves for NFA (0-2-1, 0-1-1).

    • Westbrook scored twice in the second half to rally for a 2-1 win over Old Lyme in a Shoreline Conference game. Quinn Romeo gave Old Lyme the lead with a goal five minutes into the match. Evan Getz had an assist and Ryan Tetreault made five saves for Old Lyme (0-2-1).

    • Grasso Tech opened its season with a 6-0 loss to Putnam. Joel Potter made 12 saves for Grasso.

    • Wheeler lost to Parish Hill 2-0. Bowen Baker made nine saves for Wheeler (1-2).

    H.S. volleyball

    • Norwich Tech beat New London 25-15, 27-25, 25-19. Chloe Guzman had seven assists, seven digs, two kills and two aces, Riley Riewerts had 12 kills and Halle Baron had eight assists and eight digs for Norwich Tech (3-1). Jemima Appolon had 20 assists and Marissa Parker had 10 kills, four blocks and seven digs for New London (1-3).

    • Nikki Collins had nine aces, five digs and three kills as Wheeler defeated Ellis Tech 23-25, 25-22, 25-11, 17-25, 15-8. Sarah Spracklin added nine aces, eight kills and four digs for Wheeler (1-2).

    • Grasso Tech lost to Wilcox Tech 25-4, 25-11, 25-15 in a Connecticut Technical Conference match. Erin Blake had eight digs and Hailey Beal had six digs for Grasso.

    College volleyball

    • Albertus Magnus beat Mitchell College 25-17, 17-25, 25-18, 25-18. Courtney Cappabianca had 22 digs, Lauren Tompkins had nine assists and Waterford's Megan Elphick had seven assists for Mitchell (0-3).

    College women's soccer

    • Kaitlin Fregulia scored on a header with 2:51 left in the second overtime as Long Beach State beat UConn 3-2. Yamilee Eveillard and Vivien Beil had goals and Kess Elmore had an assist for UConn (2-4-2).
