Foxwoods' slots revenue up 5 percent in April
Foxwoods Resort Casino's slot-machine revenue was up 5 percent last month, the casino reported late Friday afternoon.
After paying out prizes, the casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, kept $40.7 million in slots wagers, more than $1.9 million more than it kept in April 2015.
Total slots wagers for the month came to $496.3 million, a 2.1 percent increase over the $486.1 million wagered in the same month the previous year.
Mohegan Sun did not release its April slots report Friday.
Last month, both casinos reported year-over-year declines in March slots revenues. Earlier, they reported sizable gains for February and January.
Foxwoods contributed $10.4 million of its April slots "win" to the state.
During April, Foxwoods launched an online social casino platform that enables players to earn Foxwoods Rewards points that can be redeemed at the casino.
