    USS Providence Class joins the fleet

    Groton — Forty-eight sailors of "Class 15240" USS Providence (SSN-719), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School on May 15.

    Seaman Apprentice Evan McCrary was class honorman with a 97.00 GPA. McCrary, who continues in Apprentice Team Training (ATT), was also meritoriously advanced because of his academic performance.

    Seaman Apprentice Cody Heltsley received the Navy Core Values Award for best exemplifying the standards and expectations of a U.S. Navy sailor.

    Fireman Bobby Gable was the recipient of the Submarine Heritage Award.

    Seaman Apprentice Marcos Rodriguez, Seaman Apprentice Jeremy Galli, Seaman Johnathon Hahn, Seaman Kenneth Lee, FA Kyle Holtz, Seaman Apprentice Richard Moser, Seaman Recruit Jordan Seigrist, Seaman Apprentice Zackary Shepherd, Seaman Recruit Brandon Richardson, Seaman Apprentice Dylan Hoskins, Seaman Apprentice Caleb Burton, Seaman Apprentice Lagarik Suell, Seaman Apprentice  Brady Hobbs, Yeoman 3rd Class Albert Purvis, Seaman Apprentice Nicholas Wilbratte, Seaman Adrian Wilson, Seaman Apprentice Jamal Neal, Seaman Apprentice Nicholas Mason, and Seaman Ryan Denardo joined Gable as graduates with distinction.
