Injured Foxwoods patron taken to hospital

Mashantucket — A Foxwoods Resort Casino patron was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after sustaining an injury, a casino spokeswoman who declined to provide details confirmed Thursday.

”A patron injury occurred shortly after 1 a.m. to which emergency personnel and tribal police immediately responded,” Julie Staadecker of Shift Communications, Foxwoods' Boston-based public relations firm, said in a statement. “The safety of our guests is of paramount importance, and we are fully cooperating with the Mashantucket Pequot Police Department throughout their investigation.”

"Out of respect for the family and to protect their privacy, we have no further details to share at this time," Staadecker said.

William Dittman, chief of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Police Department, referred inquiries to spokesmen for the tribe and the casino.
