A North Stonington woman turned herself in at the Troop E barracks Wednesday to face charges that she was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when she struck and killed a pedestrian on Cossoduck Hill Road on July 18, 2017, according to state police.

Janet S. Henderson, 67, of 62J Patricia Ave. was charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, failure to drive in the proper lane and driving under the influence of alocohol or drugs. She was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear June 27 in New London Superior Court.

Christopher M. Bosma of 162 Cossaduck Hill Road was killed when Henderson, who was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan north, went off the road and struck him near his home, according to a state police accident summary.

Henderson's car sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene, the summary said. She was not injured.
