French flag flies over Connecticut Capitol in solidarity

Hartford — The French flag is being flown over Connecticut's state Capitol to honor the lives lost in Friday's terrorist attacks.

The flag was also raised Saturday over the Governor's Residence.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy called Friday night's attacks "an extraordinary tragedy and a truly dark day across the globe." Malloy said the people of Connecticut stand in solidarity with the people of France.

Meanwhile, a Malloy spokesman told the Hartford Courant that "enhanced measures" were being undertaken by the state police on trains and at Bradley International Airport to beef up security. Devon Puglia said there's no evidence of any "specific threat or credible threat" in Connecticut.

Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph Gaudett told his officers that never before has law enforcement's role in identifying and thwarting potential terrorism been so critical.
