    Police ID off-duty officer found dead inside home

    Waterbury — Authorities have identified the off-duty police officer who was one of two people found dead inside a Connecticut home.

    State police identified the officer as 37-year-old Hallock Yocher, a 10-year veteran of the Waterbury Police Department. Police haven't released the name of the other victim pending notification of family.

    Police were called to the Waterbury home around 5 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a disturbance. Responding officers found Yocher and the other victim unresponsive inside the home.

    Police say the individuals knew each other and there's no threat to the community. Police haven't elaborated on the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

    The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

    No further details were provided. The incident remains under investigation.
