UConn releases 2018-19 women's basketball schedule

Storrs — A challenging non-conference schedule, including a December trip to reigning national champion Notre Dame, highlights UConn's 2018-19 women's basketball schedule, which was released on Thursday.

The Huskies, whose only loss during the 2017-18 season came against the Irish in the NCAA national semifinals (91-89 in overtime), will visit Notre Dame on Sunday, Dec. 2, in a nationally-televised game (ESPN) at 4 p.m.

It is one of 13 non-conference games for UConn, including eight who played in last year's NCAA tournament.

The Huskies will also visit Louisville and Baylor while hosting South Carolina on Feb. 11 at the XL Center in Hartford. All three finished last season ranked among the nation's top 10 programs with Louisville also reaching the NCAA Final Four.

UConn will also play non-conference home games against Ohio State (Nov. 11, Gampel Pavilion), DePaul (Nov. 28, XL Center) and Seton Hall (Dec. 8, XL Center), and non-conference away games at Saint Louis (Dec. 4), Oklahoma (Dec. 19) and California (Dec. 22).

In addition, the Huskies will play Vanderbilt in the Hall of Fame Showcase on Nov. 17 at Mohegan Sun Arena (6 p.m., SNY), and will play Mississippi, St. John's and Purdue in the Paradise Jam from Nov. 22-24 at St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.

UConn will begin defense of its American Athletic Conference championship on Jan. 6 at Houston, and play its first AAC home game against Cincinnati on Jan. 9 at Gampel Pavilion. The Huskies will also return to Mohegan Sun Arena for the AAC tournament March 8-11. UConn is 86-0 during five AAC regular seasons and has won all five conference tournaments.

The Huskies will compete on ESPN or ESPN2 seven times and on CBS Sports Network twice. Fifteen of UConn's games will be broadcast on SNY, the TV home of the Huskies. Other network designations will be announced at a later date.
