Groton -- The school system announced Sunday that the Charles Barnum Elementary School will switch to full distance learning Monday and Tuesday after a member of the school community tested positive for COVID-19.
In the announcement, Assistant Superintendent Susan L. Austin said the individual had contact with numerous persons in the school. She said the school is working with the Ledge Light Health District to determine and notify recent close contacts of the person who has been instructed to isolate at home.
The Tree House before- and after-school program will also be closed Monday and Tuesday.
