‘Hocus Pocus Live’ comes to the Garde
If you can’t get enough of the Halloween spirit, you might want to head to the Garde Arts Center on Friday and Saturday to see “Hocus Pocus Live.”
This original production created by Summer Orlando (described in press info as “New England’s #1 live singing Winifred Sanderson impersonator”) is a full-length theatrical musical parody. It’s inspired, of course, by the 1993 movie starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy about the 300-year-old Sanderson sisters who are accidentally resurrected on Halloween in modern-day Salem, Mass.
Audience members are encouraged to come to the show dressed as their favorite Sanderson sister. Yes, there will be potential prizes.
Orlando created the show more than seven years ago, and the Garde is the last in her five-stop tour of Connecticut in 2024.
Hocus Pocus Live, 8 p.m. Fri. and 11 a.m. Sat., Garde Arts Center, 325 State St., New London; $15-$50; gardearts.org.
