Don’t blind Santa with your holiday light show!
The Thanksgiving Turkey and the Easter Hare are NOT happy. Seems like no one decorates extravagantly for THEIR holidays. But, boy, you mention Halloween or Christmas and folks start erecting Hollywood-style displays throughout their yards and all over the exteriors of their homes. Even Uncle Sam on the 4th of July can count on some flags and bunting and, of course, a war or two’s worth of explosions.
Maybe the Thanksgiving Turkey and the Easter Hare should take a little more responsibility for decorations on their respective holidays. In that case, I recommend they show up Friday for the first night of the Mystic Holiday Light Show, which takes places, interestingly enough, in North Stonington at the KOA Campground.
It’s a drive-through gig, so load your family in the car with snacks and explore over a mile of themed, sparkly sets of holiday splendor. It’s like Las Vegas relocated to the North Pole! The extravaganza is in operation several nights a week through Dec. 31.
Mystic KOA Holiday Light Show, 118 Pendleton Hill Road, North Stonington; 5-9 p.m. Friday-Nov. 24, Nov. 28-Dec. 1, Dec. 5-8, Sec. 12-15, and Dec. 19-31; $25 per car load; holidaylightshow.com/mystic.
