Musical Masterworks concludes 2018-19 season this weekend

    Violinist Soovin Kim (Lisa-Marie Mazzucco)

How is it that, in his press photos, Edward Arron never seems to age? All credit to the timeless enchantment of music, methinks.

Arron, after all, is the world-renowned cellist who, for the last decade, has served wonderfully as music director for the Musical Masterworks chamber music series in Old Lyme. See and hear Arron continue to not age Saturday and Sunday as Masterworks concludes its 2018-19 season with an intriguingly conceptualized program. Arron will be joined by pianist Gloria Chien and violinist Soovin Kim as the trio nuances Haydn's Piano Trio in C Major, Hob. XV:27; Prokofiev's Sonata in f minor for Violin and Piano, Opus 80; and Schubert's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, D. 929.

This concert should craft warm memories that will fuel you till next fall — when, same as it hopefully will forever be, MM returns.

Musical Masterworks, 5 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday, First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, 2 Ferry Road; $40 for adults, $5 for students; (860) 434-2252, www.musicalmasterworks.org.
