Fun with multiplication
The third annual Multiplier Summer Party takes place Friday in New London’s Hygienic Art Park.
At first, this was not interesting to me in the least.
I’m TERRIBLE at math. I envision a horde of geniuses (genii?) gathered, sipping beers and sharing quips about Gaussian Elimination or the principles of magnetism or how 18th century mathematics textbooks might best be employed to understanding the philosophy of Immanuel Kant.
Then a local hipster clued me in. There’s no math!
Multiplier is a New London-based, mostly improvisational live electronic band whose sound is at once rooted in psychedelia as well as club. As in, all groove, no “carry the two.”
Throw in opening act Red Lion, the area’s hottest new reggae group, and you’ve got a sonic recipe for a Large Time in the Art Park.
Food truck vendors will be on hand and on-site beer and wine will be part of the fun.
Multiplier Summer Party, 7 p.m. Friday, Hygienic Art Park, 79 Bank St., New London; $12 online presale, $15 door; hygienic.org.
