Discover Local Authors focuses on Vietnam War

Discover Local Authors, an author series at the Groton Public Library, will feature two Connecticut authors whose lives were affected by the Vietnam War and have written memoirs about it.

Ruth W. Crocker will speak about her memoir "Those Who Remain: Remembrance and Reunion after War" on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. Her memoir describes her experience following her husband's death in Vietnam and how she found resources for healing.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. Arthur Wiknik will talk about his memoir, "Nam-Sense: Surviving Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division." Wiknik was drafted into the US Army in 1968 at the age of 19 and went on to serve with the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War.
