Saturday is the Lighted Boat Parade in Mystic
Mystic has its share of traditions, but the Christmas rollout held every Saturday after Thanksgiving is one of the most popular.
What it includes:
Santa Claus motoring along the Mystic River on the Cross Sound Ferry’s Tug Boat in the afternoon and then landing at Mystic River Park. That’s where he’ll sit by the park’s Christmas tree and listen to children’s wishes.
That tree is lighted after dark, followed by the Lighted Boat Parade, where decorated and creatively illuminated vessels make their way along the river. Afterward, judges weigh in at the park on their choice for boat with the Most Charismatic Crew and the Most Holiday Spirit, among other categories.
