From Paris to Mystic: Art on view at Mystic Museum of Art

The Mystic Museum of Art is always worth a visit, and its latest exhibition is particularly intriguing. It’s a continuation of the museum’s exploration of the theme of “Art in Common.”

Here, the focus is on the Galerie Maeght in Paris, which put original lithographs by Calder, Miró, Chagall, Matisse, Giacometti, and others into the hands of ordinary people.

According to the museum, “The Maeght Gallery's success in reviving and expanding the role of art in everyday life after the devastation of World War II placed it among the most influential international galleries of the modern era.”

The exhibition, titled “From Crisis to Color: Derriere le Miroir/Behind the Mirror,” is on view now through Sept. 24.

Also of note: “Best of Mystic: Juried Highlights from Members of the Museum of Art at the Providence Art Club” runs Aug. 7-25.
