Olde Mistick Village has hosted a garlic festival for many years, but now it’s turning to something sweet: strawberries.

The OMV’s inaugural Strawberry Festival this weekend will feature the fruit in so many different forms, including strawberry wine, strawberry shortcake blondies, jams and pies. And, of course, it will offer it in its purest iteration: succulent farm-fresh strawberries.

Confirmed vendors include Chocolate Boutique, The Caramel Apple Lady, Jlee Bakery, Miss Mollie’s Brownies, and Yankee Cider Company. (There are 40 local vendors total.)

There will be live music and food trucks. Kids can also participate in face painting and balloon twisting, and they can visit an on-site petting zoo on Sunday.
