I am blown away by the turnout in the recent Stonington election. Residents showed up and made their voices heard at a volume we rarely see in non-national years. While I'm honored to be elected myself, I wanted to highlight Board of Finance candidate Farrah Garland's win. Regardless of what happens with the minority representation rule, Farrah garnered thousands of votes, coming in considerably ahead of the next two candidates. Farrah is a a vibrant, active member of our community, and the results show that Stonington is ready and eager for them. Despite fighting serious negativity during the campaign, Farrah clearly resonated with voters, and I believe that's a signal we should all heed.
