Missing flag on Memorial Day

For the second consecutive Memorial Day weekend, the American flag is not flying over Point-O-Woods Beach. Our flagpole is empty!

Earlier on Saturday, I informed the POW administrator that the flag was missing. Her reply, "I'm trying to find someone to raise the flag.“ I then sent an email to our association president informing him of the missing flag. No reply. Not raising our flag over our beach on the start of Memorial Day weekend is a blatant insult and show of disrespect to all veterans, myself included! It is despicable!

It appears that collecting association dues and issuing parking tickets takes precedence at POW over respecting our flag, especially on Memorial Day weekend!
