Gas prices hit summertime low
Drivers in Connecticut are seeing prices at the pump fall, with a gallon of unleaded fuel costing an average of $2.55 – the lowest since April.
According to the AAA Fuel Gauge report, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded is $2.39, also the lowest it's been since April.
"Once the busy travel season comes to a close, there will be less of a demand, so barring any unforeseen disruptions, the price of gas is expected to fall even more quickly", said AAA spokeswoman Amy Parmenter.
Gas prices have been on a steady decline since mid-July.
Nationally, the average price of gas over the Labor Day weekend is the lowest it has been in more than a decade.
