Groton — The University of Connecticut has two new food trucks serving students and sent one — the Blue Cow ice cream truck — to the Avery Point campus on Thursday.

The 18-foot ice cream truck sells ice cream made by UConn’s dairy bar, and made Avery Point its first stop among the university’s branch campuses.

The department of dining services also purchased a food truck called “Food for Thought,” which serves tacos.

The Blue Cow truck is open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, on Fairfield Way in Storrs and will also travel to branch campuses to support students and special events.

The truck posts its evening and weekend locations on twitter at @uconnicecreamtruck.
