The Groton Town Police Department is hosting Tip-A-Cop, an event to benefit the Special Olympics, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mystic Pizza, 56 W. Main St., Mystic.

"During the event, the local law enforcement volunteers will assist restaurant staff in taking orders and serving customers," the event notice states. "All tips the volunteers receive for their efforts will go to Special Olympics Connecticut to support its year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities."
