The American Red Cross is looking for healthy people to donate blood or platelets, and the organization has announced dates and times for blood drives for the next two weeks in Colchester, Groton, Lisbon, Montville, Mystic and Norwich.

The Norwich Blood Donation Center at 45 Salem Turnpike is holding blood drives from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, May 27, May 28 and May 29. There also will be blood drives from 12:30 to 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, May 26 and May 28, and one from 1 to 6 p.m. on May 22.

On Friday, Our Lady of the Lakes Church at 752 Norwich-Salem Turnpike in Oakdale is holding a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m.

On Monday in Colchester, there will be a blood drive at CrossFit Playground at 52 Upton Road from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On May 26, there will be a blood drive at Hugo A. Simonelli VFW Post 3263 at 60 Stonington Road in Mystic from 12:30 to 6:15 p.m., and one at the Groton Lodge of Elks at 700 Shennecossett Road from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

On May 27 in Lisbon, there will be a blood drive at the senior center, 11 Newent Road, from 1 to 6 p.m.

Those wishing to donate are asked to make an appointment either by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor app, visiting redcrossblood.org, or calling 1 (800) RED CROSS. Everyone donating is required to wear a mask or face covering.
