New London to give away old school furniture

New London ―The city is offering free school furniture to the public next week.

The items will be available for pickup on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sept. 1 in the parking lot of New London High School at 20 Chester St.

The items include 25 folding cafeteria tables, 30 student chairs and 16 student desks. Anyone interested must take the furniture immediately. There will be no holds. Anyone taking the furniture must also complete a liability waiver form.

Any furniture remaining after 11 a.m. on Sept. 1 will be disposed.
