New London ― Police said they are investigating a one car accident on Nautilus Drive Tuesday in which the female driver was pronounced dead.

The driver was identified as Marlene Slowenski, 64, of 239 Nautilus Dr. #322.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 8:27 a.m. reporting a motor vehicle accident and that the driver was unresponsive, according to a news release.

Captain Matthew Galante said the driver, who was in the car alone, hit a tree and curbing.

Slowenski was taken to the Lawrence + Memorial hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Members of the Investigative Services Division and Accident re-construction team are investigating. A portion of Nautilus Dr. was closed during investigation but has since been reopened.
