William Delgado-Moran, an eighth grader, and Jan Carlos Burgos, a sophomore, have been recognized as the February Students of the Month at Saint Bernard School.

Students are nominated for the honor by their teachers for exhibiting the Xaverian values of humility, compassion, simplicity, trust and zeal.

William, 13, of Quaker Hill, participates in student council and student ambassadors club, and played winter soccer. Outside of school he is an altar server for St. Paul’s in Waterford.

Teachers say William is a consistent source of hard work and positivity each day in class, and goes out of his way to connect with, and be of help to, his classmates. They say he is kind and inclusive.

Jan Carlos, 16, of New London, participates in track.

Teachers say Jan is constantly engaged, participating in class discussion. They say he shows compassion to other students and is filled with compassion and zeal.
