Kids and families can get ready to stomp, chomp, and hunt for eggs like a real dinosaur: The 13th annual Dino Easter Egg Hunt is back at The Dinosaur Place in Montville on April 1.

Dinosaur eggs of all sizes are waiting to be discovered in this prehistoric twist on the traditional egg hunt, with guaranteed prizes for all participants. Kids of all ages are invited; there will be enough eggs for everybody. The Egg Hunt will be divided into four age groups, so everyone gets a fair chance to find some awesome Dino Eggs. Each child will hunt for different sized eggs in a designated area just for their age group. (Don’t forget to bring your own basket.)

In addition, egg hunters can meet the Easter Bunny (who will be available for family photos) and over 60 life-sized dinosaurs, and each participant will receive a wristband for all-day access to The Dinosaur Place.

After children have collected their eggs, they can head over to the Dino Egg Redemption Center by the Splash Pad to claim a prize. Then they can keep the adventure going by strolling along 1½ miles of nature trails and discovering over 60 life-sized dinosaurs.

Normal admission prices apply after the Egg Hunt is over. Parking is free.

Group start times

Please come 15 minutes early for the registration.

– 5-7 years old: 10 a.m.

– 2-4 years old: 10:15 a.m.

– 8 years old and older: 10:30 a.m.

– Under 2 years old: 10:45 a.m.

Tickets are available online only, and pre-registration is required. Guests must be available both on the event date (April 1) and the scheduled weather date (April 8) to register. A decision will be made by Thursday, March 30, whether the event will be held on the event date or the weather date. If the event is moved to the Weather Date, it will be held on this day regardless of the weather conditions. There will be no refunds.
