Stonington grand list shows slight growth
Stonington ― The town’s grand list, or it’s total value of taxable property, inched slightly higher in 2023 compared to 2022.
The grand list, including real estate, personal property and motor vehicles, increased by 1% to just shy of $4.1 billion as of Oct. 1, 2023.
Jennifer Lineaweaver, town assessor, said the biggest increase was to personal property such as business equipment which rose 8.7% to almost $180 million. Motor vehicle assessments were down by 3.5% to $207 million.
Real estate assessments, which comprise the majority of the list, totaled $3.7 billion, an increase of less than 1%
The town’s top 10 taxpayers are:

6. Mashantucket Pequot Tribe $11,707,26
7. Joyce O. Resnikoff Trustee (Olde Mistick Village) $11 million
8. Yankee Gas Services Co $10.3 million
9. Hartford Healthcare Co $9.6 million
10. Spirit Master Funding X LLC $8.9 million
*The ranking for Masonicare is based on its estimated payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement with the town.
