New London — The Connecticut College women's soccer team beat Colby 2-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game on Sunday.

Kat Norton scored just 1:02 into the game to get the Camels going. Former Old Lyme all-stater Mya Johnson assisted on the goal. And Claire Williams scored in the 63rd minute, with Marielle McEnaney assisting, to provide some insurance. Sarah Hall needed to make one save for the shutout as Conn (3-0, 2-0) outshot Colby 18-5.

In other games:

• Mitchell College had its three-game unbeaten streak ended with a 2-0 loss to Eastern Connecticut State. Briley Harnois and Alexie Root had first-half goals for ECSU (3-2). Gemma Landry made 11 saves for Mitchell (2-3-1).

Men's soccer

• Augie Djerdjaj scored in the 49th minute as Conn College beat Colby 1-0 in a NESCAC game. Rye Jaran assisted on the goal and Sam Maidenberg made three saves for Conn (2-1, 2-0).

College field hockey

• Colby beat Conn College 5-2 in a NESCAC game. Gillian Iacobucci and Hannah Webster scored goals, Sydney Cresta had an assist and Jackie Mountford made 12 saves for Conn (0-3, 0-2).  

H.S. boys' soccer

• Stonington won its fourth straight Josh Piver Cup tournament title on Saturday night, beating Fitch 2-0 in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I opener for both teams. Ryan Turner and Sam Montalto scored for the Bears (3-1, 1-0) and Will Sawin and Billy deCastro had assists. Fitch is also 3-1.

Football

• St. Thomas More blocked a field goal attempt in overtime and returned it for a touchdown as time expired to beat Naval Prep 20-14 on Saturday. Bryce Butler blocked the kick, which would have won the game for Naval Prep, and Jahnez Williams picked up the ball and ran 90 yards for the game-winning score.

JaShawn Scroggins threw a pair of touchdown passes to Logan Forbes for the Chancellors (2-1). Sammy Knipe had 11 tackles, Ife Ohalete had seven tackles and an interception, Chris Dixon had three sacks and Brian Allen Jr. had a sack for T-More.

Speedbowl

• Tim Jordan took the lead from Todd Owen with 18 laps remaining and won the 50-lap Fast 5 SK Modified feature at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday night. Owen finished second and Waterford's Rob Janovic Jr. was third.

RJ Marcotte drove to victory in the 49-lap Bubby Brouwer SK Lite Modified feature. Other winners included Ryan Morgan of North Franklin (30-lap Late Models), Ryan Waterman (25-lap Street Stock), Salem's John O'Sullivan III (20-lap Legends) and East Lyme's Sam Mesick (25-lap X-Cars). 

Road racing

• Derek Breitenstine of Salem won the 5K Salem Road Race on Saturday, finishing in a time of 19:37. Kevin Glenn of Bolton was second in 20:15 and Sybil Sanders of Marlborough, the top women's finisher, was third in 21:07.

Also finishing in the top 10 were Erin Hub of Groton (21:18), Matt Pulse of Colchester (21:50), Kevin MacDonald of Norwich (22:04), Topher Regan of Colchester (22:19), Kevin Meader of Uncasville (22:55), Daniel Bowdler of Cromwell (22:56) and Douglas Lord of Burlington (23:10).
