The Young Professionals of Eastern CT and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT's Community Concierge program have organized "Adulting 101: Resource Expo for Young Adults," taking place Thursday, Oct. 4, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Three Rivers Community College, 574 New London Turnpike, Norwich. This resource expo is intended for young adults learning life skills, personal growth, and long-term financial stability. This event is part trade show, part workshop series. OPEN HOUSES

Advantage Personal Training will celebrate its new addition on Friday, Sept. 28 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Advantage Personal Training, 2906 Gold Star Highway, Mystic. There will be food, and friends are encouraged to bring a potluck dish. The 2,100-square-foot addition was built over the spring and summer. Greg Drab, who started APT in 1999, said it was needed because the growing clientele was squeezing the existing space. HONORS

Westerly Hospital was recently recognized for its work in promoting enrollment in state organ and tissue donor registries. Through the Workplace Partnership for Life campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration, Westerly Hospital was among 244 hospitals nationwide to receive bronze recognition status. The hospital’s efforts to increase organ donations included an information table in the main lobby staffed by Anna Pelchat, LICSW, from the hospital’s case management department during April’s Donate Life month and an organ donor and tissue drive held on-site. The Great Neck Country Club Women’s Golf Association held their 8th annual Rally for the Cure golf tournament to benefit TBBCF on Aug. 7 and raised $12,000. Since 2010, Rally for the Cure has raised over $47,000 for TBBCF.
