Chestnut Street Playhouse in Norwich is staging its first play of 2022, “Twelve Angry Jurors.”

The drama written by Reginald Rose is considered a classic, as members of a jury argue and reason with each other over whether they should rule that a murder defendant is guilty.

Back when it became famous, for the 1954 live television version and then the 1957 movie, it was “Twelve Angry Men.” Times have changed, and now it’s “Twelve Angry Jurors,” but the themes remain relevant.

The production at Chestnut Street Playhouse is directed by Eugene J. Celico and features actors Anjie Leonard, Declan Sperry, Mary Sue Frishman, Nancy Young, Bob Mignarri, Margaret Madole, Scotty Duval, Heather Oakley, Jon Andriso, Raven Dillon, Nichelle Rollins, Joe Harper and Kathy Scully O'Hara.

“Twelve Angry Jurors,” Feb. 17-27, Chestnut Street Playhouse, 24 Chestnut St., Norwich; not recommended for kids under 16; 7:30 p.m. Thurs.-Sat. and 2 p.m. Sun.; $35 regular admission, $30 seniors, $20 for students with ID; chestnutstreetplayhouse.org.
