Stevie Nicks to play Mohegan Sun on Sunday

Taylor Swift loves giving her fans surprises, and her most recent album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” certainly has its share.

One of them: Stevie Nicks, a godmother of sorts to female singer-songwriters of the next generation, wrote a poem for the booklet included with Swift’s CD. It makes sense; after all, Billboard cheekily called Nicks “the OG tortured poet.”

A sample line of Nicks’ poem: “She was just flying thru the clouds where he saw her … she was just making her way – to the stars – when he lost her.”

But don’t get the wrong idea: Nicks isn’t just sitting home writing poems for other singers. She’s also out touring, with a stop Sunday at Mohegan Sun. She has an amazing number of popular songs to her credit, from “Dreams” to “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” to “Edge of Seventeen” to “Landslide,” so the concert should be a greatest-hits parade.

Stevie Nicks, 7 p.m. Sunday, Mohegan Sun Arena; resale tickets $400 and up; mohegansun.com.
