Marc Cohn in a sold-out show at the Kate

FILE - In this March 9, 2017 file photo, Marc Cohn performs at Love Rocks NYC! in New York. After winning a Grammy in 1991, singer-songwriter Mark Cohn charted his own course, a long winding road which led him to songs that have been Grammy nominated for two years in a row. Performers seem to love playing the Kate.

Take Marc Cohn. He recorded a concert at the Old Saybrook theater for its TV series “The Kate.” It was in 2019, and Cohn shared the bill with the iconic Blind Boys of Alabama.

Cohn has returned to the Kate since then, and his latest gig there is Sunday.

Cohn is a tremendous live performer, as well as a strong songwriter (prime examples of the latter: “Walking in Memphis,” “True Companion” and “Walk through the World”).

Here’s the bad news: The concert is sold out. But if you already have tickets … enjoy!

Marc Cohn, 7 p.m. Sunday, Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook; sold out; (860) 510-0453, thekate.org.
