Alisan Porter, from ‘The Voice’ to the Kate
“The Voice” is a vehicle for talent that is deserving of national attention but hasn’t been able to garner it yet.
But the show has also served as a way to bring attention back to folks who had some level of fame and are deserving of another turn in the spotlight.
Billy Gilman was one. And so was Alisan Porter.
Porter was all of 5 years old when she won the first season of “Star Search,” and she went on to star in movies like “Parenthood’ and “Curly Sue.”
After some stints on Broadway, she returned to TV notoriety with her 2016 run competing on “The Voice.” She won that season, thanks to a gorgeous voice and a confident, engaging performance style.
And she is coming to the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center on Saturday to perform in concert.
