High school roundup: Stonington field hockey ties No. 10 North Branford 4-4

Stonington — Anna Lettiere scored twice, including the game-tying goal in the fourth quarter and the Stonington High School field hockey team came away with a 4-4 deadlock Saturday in overtime against 10th-ranked North Branford.Marina Lewandowski and Abby Mayorga also scored for the Bears (9-1-1), who are also receiving votes in the state's top 10 poll.North Branford led 4-3 after three quarters after a penalty stroke by Lily Ardito and a goal by Daytona Kamienski, with Lettiere's fourth-quarter goal sending the game to a 7v7 overtime session.Hailey Allard made 12 saves for Stonington and Charlotte Cornell added a defensive stop. North Branford is the three-time defending Class S state champion, beating Stonington for the 2021 and 2022 titles.In other games:• Lily Gibson scored two goals as East Lyme celebrated Senior Day with a 4-2 victory over Old Saybrook. Violet Maziarz and Kate Erikson also scored for the Vikings (8-3) and Emma Van Dusen earned the victory in goal.Girls' soccer• Allie Kondash had four goals and an assist as Montville remained undefeated in Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III with a 7-2 victory over Plainfield. Bacon (5-1-6 overall) is the first-place team in ECC Division II, while East Lyme (11-0-2) is at the top of the standings in ECC Division I. Garrison Biggs and Callaway Scott scored for East Lyme, Max Montejano added an assist and Oliver Lopez made three saves. Eddie Hageman scored to give Bacon a 1-0 lead at halftime on a through ball by Nick Gilman and Zach Carroll finished with five saves for the Bobcats.• Wyatt Hayes scored both goals on penalty kicks and Wheeler shut out Norwich Tech 2-0. Luke Dowrey and Devlin McCusker combined for the shutout in goal for Wheeler (8-6), with McCusker making two key saves in the second half.
