East Lyme — Making his first career varsity start, Liam Joyce pitched 6.2 innings of no-hit ball and the East Lyme High School baseball team blanked St. Bernard 3-0 Thursday.Jack Hayes retired the last hitter and preserved the no-hitter for the Vikings (6-3), who got two hits and an RBI each from Alex Dreyfus and Nick Cambi.St. Bernard is 4-4.In other games:• Dylan Cimini went 4-for-4 and Stonington scored eight runs in the fifth inning to defeat New London 13-3. Nate Virtue and Donte Valentine each had a double for Fitch (3-6, 0-4) and Jonathon Holfelder drove in a run and scored.H.S. softball• Bacon Academy rallied from a 6-1 deficit in the sixth inning and defeated Stonington, 7-6. Meghan Walsh started the inning with a home run for Bacon (4-4) and Regan Reid added a two-run double. Sammi D'Atri was the winning pitcher for the Bobcats. H.S. boys' tennis• Tucker Callahan, Brady O'Neil, Matthew Turrisi and Peter Schoenecker won singles matches for Stonington in a 7-0 victory over Waterford to remain unbeaten at 8-0 overall, 3-0 in ECC Division I. Henry Sawin and Ben Mahoney won their No. 3 doubles match in a tiebreaker for the Bears. Waterford is 5-2, 1-2.• Ryan Yang and Darren Chen picked up wins at No. 3 and 4 singles as Montville edged Ledyard 4-3. Oakley Garrison, Colin Britner and Theodore Burrell were double winners for the Saints (5-0, 2-0).H.S. girls' track• St. Bernard beat Tourtellotte 104-30 in an ECC Division IV meet on Wednesday while also beating Putnam 109-27 and Windham Tech 88-49. College baseball• UConn Avery Point defeated the Eastern Connecticut junior varsity 7-6 in 10 innings. Derrel Mitchell had five RBI and Ryan Catalano earned the win for Avery Point in relief.
