New London — Jaidelis Rivera scored 16 points and Nyarah Dudley had 11 points and 13 rebounds as New London defeated Fitch, 44-37, in and Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I girls' basketball game on Saturday. Ky-Ani Allgood added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Whalers (7-7, 3-2). Fitch is 7-7, 3-2. In other games: • East Lyme edged Woodstock 41-39 in ECC Division I. Kate Erikson led the Vikings (9-4, 1-4) with 10 points. Cailin Delaney had nine points and seven rebounds, Taylor Kachinsky eight points, Brouwer Kenney seven points and three steals, Juju Guarraia five points and seven 7 rebounds and Cassidy O'Brien six assists. • Windham defeated Stonington in ECC Division III, 43-28. Sophia Hoinsky led the Bears (7-4, 3-2) with 11 points. • Williams defeated Fishers Island 38-32. Kate Van-Berkle led all scoring with 14 points for the Blues (4-1). • Lucy Walker's 18 points and nine rebounds helped Waterford past St. Bernard, 43-38. Brianna McNeil had 14 points for the Lancers (4-7). Gemma Tonucci and Zanfina Gjonbalaj had nine points apiece for the Saints (6-6). • Ledyard earned a 54-42 win over RHAM. Wrestling • Ledyard finished 4-0 at the Snitkin Duals with wins over Barrington (R.I.) 44-32, Staples 59-23, Jonathan Law 64-15 and Notre Dame-West Haven, 51-29. Talon Vanase (106), Lucas Boxley (120), Collin Rhodes (132), Josiah Estriplet (138), Braxton Swanbeck (157), Ryan Taggart (175) and Ephraim Medic (190) were among Ledyard's multiple match winners. The Colonels are 18-3. • Montville lost to Windsor, 54-26. Adrian Adames (126), Hector Aponte (157) had wins for the Wolves (4-14). • NFA went 2-2 at the Snitkin Duals, losing to Notre Dame 54-29, beating Bristol Central 43-25, losing to Barrington 38-37 and defeating Ellis Tech 57-18. Brock Nowakowski (120), Jackson Sorel (132), Ed Lavoie (138), John Dexter (144) were among the four-match winners for the Wildcats (10-13). • East Lyme/Norwich Tech finished fourth among 19 teams with 154 points at the Gary Tiger Classic. Jonathan Harms (285), Lincoln Carlson (215) and Brayden Soleau (190) all took first place for the Vikings. Carlson was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. • Host Waterford went 2-1 at Wrestle for the Cure on Friday. The Lancers beat Coventry (R.I.) 50-28 and Haddam-Killingworth and lost to Simsbury 45-35. Lucas Bourez (165) had three pins, Robert Sommers (138) had two pins and Abdullah Faraj (126) also won twice for the Lancers (16-5). Girls hockey • Avon/Southington scored with 26 second left in regulation and beat the Woodstock Academy co-op 3-2 on Friday night. Stonington's Zi Qing Biondo and NFA's Ireland Wilford scored goals and Sophia Bonner, Maci Corradi and Wheeler's Sophia Gouveia had assists for the Centaurs (5-8). Girls' indoor track • Chase Gilbert of Old Lyme won two events at the Hillhouse Varsity Showcase on Friday. She won the 3200 in 10:53.82 and won the 600 in a school-record 1:37.74. • Wheeler's Ava Vangieri, Morgan Riley, Elyse Overmoyer and Sophie Zichichi finished fourth in the sprint medley relay on Thursday at the Old Saybrook qualifier at Hillhouse. Overmoyer was also seventh in the 600. Boys' indoor track • Old Lyme's Tyler Cann won the shot put at the Hillhouse Variety Showcase on Friday. His winning put was 51-feet, 7.75-inches. Teammate Patrick Lynch was third in the long jump (21-4). • Wheeler's 4x400 relay team won on Thursday at the Old Saybrook qualifier at Hillhouse. The team of Drew Deary, Jack Dowrey, Tyler Scarchilli and Trevor Scarchilli won in a personal best 3:40.96. Trevor Scarchilli was second and Dowrey fifth in the 600.
