Shooting at Pistol Pete’s in Norwich
Norwich ― Police say one of their officers chased down and apprehended a man who is accused of firing a gun inside Pistol Pete’s Bar and Grill early Saturday morning.
At approximately 1:23 a.m., police said, they received a 911 call from the bar at 29 Stonington Road that there had been a shooting there. The first officer to arrive saw a man running out the door behind the bar and chased after him. The officer apprehended the man after a short foot chase in the woods behind the building. Police said the man had a firearm in his possession.
Police charged the man, Bob H. Louis, 37, with criminal possession of a firearm and interfering with a police officer. He later posted a $50,000 bond and was released. His address and court date were not immediately available from police.
Police said their investigation revealed there was an altercation inside the men’s room of the bar, where there was evidence of a shooting. Police said the shooting was not believed to be a random incident, and there is no public safety concern at this time. Police continue to investigate.
