Man seriously injured in scooter crash

New London ― Two people suffered injuries, one of them life-threatening, following a collision between two scooters on Wednesday.

The 10:56 a.m. crash occurred on Broad Street in the area of Cedar Grove Cemetery, police said in a statement.

At the scene of the crash, police said emergency responders found a man unresponsive in the road. He was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The man, who police have not yet identified, was listed in critical condition on Thursday.

The second man was taken to L+ M with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
