Pedestrian dies after being struck by truck in Lisbon

Lisbon ― A man died on Monday after he was struck by a pickup truck that had traveled off the right side of River Road.

The crash occurred at 10:28 p.m. on Monday when a northbound 2020 Dodge Ram operated by William C. Stonier, 36, of Ledyard, ran off the side of the road, struck the pedestrian and a guardrail, state police said. Police said the truck also collided with a utility pole before coming to rest in the road.

The pedestrian, who police have not yet identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Timothy Wengloski at (860) 848-6500, ext. 5.
