Waterford Police cite two businesses for illegal sale of e-cigarettes to minors
Waterford ― Police in an undercover operation Tuesday cited clerks at two businesses for selling e-cigarettes to underage persons.
According to a release from the department, the citations were issued to clerks at Quick-Eze Mobil at 241 Boston Post Road and Sam’s Mart at 125 Boston Post Road.
Police said the operation, which targeted businesses selling nicotine or tobacco products to underage persons, was conducted by Waterford High School Resource Officer Norman Malbaurn, state Department of Labor Agent Todd Startz and the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. It was done in response to tips received from the public.
The team also found THC products that were not authorized by the state for sale in the Quick-Eze Mobil, which were later removed. Vape products in the store were accessible, which is also against regulations, police said. The vapes were directed to be moved to a secure area.
