East Lyme — A homeowner sustained minor injuries Monday when a stove he was working on caught fire, police said.
The call for the small blaze at 17 Tanglewood Drive came in around 11 a.m. Police Chief Mike Finkelstein said the man's eyebrows were singed in the incident, but otherwise he appeared to be uninjured.
Finkelstein said crews took the man to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He said it's lucky the outcome wasn't worse. The small fire didn't spread beyond the stove.
Property records show the home belongs to Nagwa and Paul Hanna.
The fire marshal is investigating.
